Job summary

Journeys in Phoenix is seeking a Store Manager in Training to recruit, hire, and train a high-performing sales team and to manage daily store operations. You will drive sales, monitor assets, and uphold loss prevention practices in a fast-paced teen retail environment.

The role requires 1–2 years of retail sales experience, strong customer service skills, and a willingness to learn. Expect 45-hour weeks, including nights and weekends, with opportunities for rapid internal advancement.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years retail sales experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Desire to succeed in fast-paced retail environment.
• Willingness to learn.
• Completion of all training programs leading up to Manager in Training position or equivalent training.
• Ability to work 45 hours per week.
• Ability to work night and weekend shifts.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Age requirements for full-time employment may vary by state.

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed store and personal sales goals and standards of performance
• Recruit, interview, and hire high-caliber employees with in-store needs
• Train and develop a successful sales team
• Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to all employees by enforcing all company policies and practices
• Ensure that all company initiatives are properly implemented and to the standard of the company direction
• Conduct monthly performance reviews
• Recognize talented staff and develop them for growth within the company
• Supervise and manage all aspects of daily store operations
• Supervise and manage all aspects of Loss Prevention practices
• Plan weekly staffing schedules in compliance with schedules policy
• Provide a fun, full service experience to all customers
• Resolve customer issues effectively
• Understand the Journeys culture and demonstrate it to the team
