Job summary

Journeys is a teen retail leader with footwear and specialty items. The company is looking for a Manager in Training to recruit, hire, train, and manage store personnel to achieve sales goals, control expenses, and protect assets.

The role requires 1–2 years of retail sales experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work 45 hours per week including nights and weekends; training programs lead toward managerial responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years retail sales experience
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Desire to succeed in fast-paced retail environment
• Willingness to learn
• Completion of all training programs leading up to Manager in Training position or equivalent training
• Ability to work 45 hours per week
• Ability to work night and weekend shifts
• Ability to climb, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Stand for long periods of time
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed store and personal sales goals
• Recruit, interview, and hire high-caliber employees
• Train and develop a successful sales team
• Provide feedback and coaching to all employees
• Ensure company initiatives are implemented to standard
• Conduct monthly performance reviews
• Recognize staff and develop for growth
• Supervise and manage daily store operations and loss prevention
• Plan weekly staffing schedules
• Provide a fun, full service experience to customers
• Resolve customer issues effectively
• Demonstrate Journeys culture to the team
