Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily store operations, staffing, training, and customer service in Kentucky. You will oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, and security while ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposits.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and safety rules.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide proper training; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps and counseling.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance expectations; coordinate meetings to ensure policy adherence.
• Open and close the store at least twice weekly; ensure coverage.
• Evaluate statements to identify trends, profitability, and expense control opportunities.
• Manage inventory; review ordering and cycle counts weekly.
• Facilitate stocking, storage and merchandise presentation per company standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and cash controls.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and maintain a safe environment.
