Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read diagrams, safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math including percentages for pricing and listings.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including deposits and cashier accountability.
• Ability to learn IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Knowledge of safety, cash, and store security policies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise.
• Assist in inventory management including damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork and controls; prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Act as a role model by following company procedures and policies.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of company funds in the designated bank.
• Assist in maintaining financial integrity via cashier accountability and cash control.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment for customers and employees.
• Operate store in the store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
