The candidate assists with recruiting, merchandising, inventory, store openings/closes, and financial controls while ensuring a safe, customer‑focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or managing a team in retail.
• Retail grocery store experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams and safety rules.
• Proficient in cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to solve problems in varied situations with limited standardization.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise.
• Assists in all aspects of inventory management including damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork and controls; prepares inventories.
• Follows prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Acts as a role model by following Company procedures and policies.
• Participates in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensures the safe deposit of all Company funds in the bank.
• Assists in maintaining financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Maintains clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment for customers and employees.
• Operates store in absence of store manager.
• Reviews operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Completes all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
