Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate in Wilmington, NC to assist the Store Manager with staff supervision, inventory control, merchandising, and customer service. This role supports store processes and will be held for a limited period as the external candidate develops into the Store Manager position.

Responsibilities include recruiting support, inventory management, in-stock targets, and ensuring financial integrity through cash handling and deposits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in a leadership or managerial position.
• Two or more years of experience in a retail grocery store preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising by staging, stocking and storage of merchandise; ensure presentation according to guidelines.
• Assists in all aspects of inventory management and preparing inventories.
• Follows prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Acts as a role model by following Company procedures and policies.
• Participates in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensures safe deposit of all Company funds.
• Assists in cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Maintains clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operates store in store manager’s absence.
• Reviews operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Completes all paperwork according to guidelines.
