Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking a Store Manager in Training to learn how to lead a busy retail operation while upholding merchandising standards and inviting store displays. You will perform on-the-job training to manage the store profitably and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for customers and associates.

The role emphasizes recruiting, coaching, and supervising staff, ensuring compliance, and delivering strong customer service. A quarterly bonus may be earned upon achieving targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years prior retail management experience is preferred.
• Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise; BIG BOX experience a plus is preferred.
• Strong productivity management in freight processing is required.
• Strong communication and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Must be able to lift 30 to 50 lbs. and perform frequent movement as described.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and hire store associates to serve our customers
• Foster growth and development of associates through training on operations and merchandising while coaching and correcting when appropriate
• Oversee and delegate all store activities to ensure smooth daily operations
• Ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while enforcing company policies and procedures
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Implement operational and merchandising direction that is communicated from our corporate headquarters
• Help your store reach its maximum profit contribution
• Protect company assets
• Maintain a high level of customer service across the store
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
