Position Summary

The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) job is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position.

The SMIT program aims to enhance your career as a future store leader through a self-paced, collaborative training over 16 weeks, including virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Your growth will be supported by your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Skills Needed for This Role
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to support and lead your team.
  • Customer care duties to ensure high service levels.
  • Execution of merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  • Management of store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.

We expect our SMITs to:

  • Engage actively with leadership during Key Learning Experiences to support promotion opportunities.
  • Support store operations as a management team member and lead in accordance with CVS values and policies.
  • Engage colleagues in supporting the company's purpose of "helping people on their path to better health."
  • Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager at any location within the designated market.
  • Ability to transfer to other CVS stores within the market.
  • Flexible schedule to meet business needs.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
Education

A high school diploma or GED is required. A four-year college degree is preferred, or relevant work experience may be considered as a substitute.

Additional Details
  • Anticipated weekly hours: 45
  • Full-time position
  • Pay Range: $18.50 - $23.88 per hour, depending on experience and location.
