Job summary

Dollar General in Minnesota seeks a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager with staffing, inventory, merchandising, and store operations, developing an external candidate for the Store Manager role for a limited period. You will lead customer service efforts, help open/close the store, and ensure cash controls and safe practices while maintaining a clean, well-stocked environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by facilitating staging, stocking and storage of merchandise; ensure presentation according to established practices.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management; prepare and conduct inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open and close the store as needed.
• Ensure cash control and deposits are performed correctly.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and safe environment.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
