The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position through a 16-week, self-paced, collaborative training program that includes virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Supportive leadership includes your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to support and lead your team.
  • Customer care skills to provide high levels of service.
  • Merchandising execution to support store sales growth.
  • Store inventory and asset management to maintain profitability.
Candidate Expectations
  • Engage actively with your leader during Key Learning Experiences to support your promotion pathway.
  • Support store management and lead in alignment with CVS values and policies.
  • Engage colleagues to support CVS’s purpose of helping people on their path to better health.
  • Be open to promotion and transfer opportunities within the market.

Note: Selection for SMIT does not guarantee promotion; progression depends on performance and openings.

Minimum Requirements
  • Willingness to accept a Store Manager role at any location in the designated market.
  • Ability to transfer within the market.
  • Flexible schedule based on business needs.
  • High School diploma or GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred or relevant work experience.
Additional Details
  • Weekly hours: 45
  • Full-time
  • Pay Range: $18.50 - $23.88 per hour, depending on experience and location.
