The Store Manager Candidate at Dollar General supports the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, managing inventory, stocking, receiving, and completing paperwork for a limited period to develop external candidates for the Store Manager role.

This role emphasizes frontline leadership, merchandising, cashier controls, safety, and adherence to company policies while handling opening/closing duties and contributing to store performance in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions and procedures.
• Perform basic math calculations including percentages.
• Know cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Learn and operate IBM cash register functions to generate reports.
• Understand inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Follow cash handling and safety policies (deposits, keys, safety programs).
• Recruit, interview, hire and counsel according to policies including legal compliance.
• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Keep organized with attention to detail and problem solving.
• Some locations may prefer bilingual Spanish speakers.
