Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate in Mansfield, LA, to support the Store Manager in all store processes. This temporary role focuses on developing internal candidates for the Store Manager position, covering staffing, merchandising, inventory, and cash control, while ensuring a safe, clean, and well-organized store.

Responsibilities include assisting with recruiting, training, opening/closing tasks, and maintaining financial integrity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Ability to learn and perform IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Familiarity with store security practices and cash control procedures.
• Ability to recruit, hire and train qualified applicants to fulfill store needs.
• Ensures compliance with federal labor laws and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking according to established practices.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management including damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork and controls.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Assist in maintaining financial integrity and cash controls.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operate store in manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
