Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager with supervision, staffing, inventory, stocking, and receiving. This role is designed to foster the external candidate for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

You will lead by example, ensuring excellent customer service, accurate cash handling, and compliance with company policies. Travel to nearby stores may be required; a high school diploma is preferred, with retail experience valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures
• Ability to learn and perform basic cash register functions and generate reports

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising, staging, stocking and pricing of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in store manager’s absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on deadlines.
