Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staffing, inventory, and customer service. This role is designed to foster development for external candidates and is for a limited period.

You will participate in recruitment, merchandising, inventory control, ordering, cash handling, store opening/closing, and enforcing company policies. This position requires flexibility and a strong focus on operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and proper pricing/fixtures.
• Manage inventory, shrink, and audits; prepare inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in the manager's absence as needed.
• Review operating statements for trends, expenses, and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
