Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory management, stocking, and store needs. This role helps develop external candidates for the Store Manager position and will be held for a limited period.

The candidate will assist in recruiting, stock merchandising, and ensuring pricing and signage accuracy. Strong emphasis on cash control, safety, and customer service leadership is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Ability to learn IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and pricing according to store manager direction.
• Manage inventory, damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Maintain store operations during store manager absence and review operating statements.
