Job description

The Store Manager oversees and is responsible for the store's sales efforts in each department and supervises the store's overall operation to ensure efficiency and profitability. They enforce, convey, and uphold Hibbett I City Gear's policies, goals, and standards to the sales team. The Store Manager communicates regularly with the District Sales Manager and the Store Support Center. They represent Hibbett I City Gear in appearance, attitude, and professionalism to employees, customers, and the community. The Store Manager is knowledgeable about each product area or department and is passionate about providing outstanding customer service and promoting merchandise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Manage and control the assets of Hibbett I City Gear within their designated store.
  2. Oversee all sales efforts in the store.
  3. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all store aspects, including sales statistics, inventory, and expenses, to ensure profitability.
  4. Collaborate with the District Sales Manager to establish and enforce policies, goals, and procedures.
  5. Ensure staff responsibilities and standards are met in each department.
  6. Mentor and develop a team of Sales Associates, Assistant Managers, and Managers in Training.
  7. Handle personnel recruiting, hiring, training, discipline, and evaluations.
  8. Maintain proper security measures for the store.
  9. Keep the District Sales Manager informed about inventory movement.
  10. Implement and follow through on marketing and advertising plans, staying aware of customer trends.
  11. Monitor competition and community events to identify opportunities.
  12. Deliver exceptional customer service, assisting customers promptly and efficiently.
  13. Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring internal control procedures are effective and reporting potential fraud risks.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage subordinate supervisors and non-management employees, including Sales Associates, Hub Drivers, Assistant Managers, and Managers in Training. Responsible for overall team direction, coordination, and evaluation, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisal, and resolving employee issues, in accordance with company policies and laws.

QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience in retail, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
  3. Experience managing and developing a sales team.
  4. 3-5 years of customer service experience.
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Analytical mindset with business acumen.
  8. Problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  9. Commitment to excellent customer service.
  10. Leadership and communication skills.
