About the Role
As a Store Manager, you’ll be responsible for the total holistic omni customer experience in your store, ensuring high visual and commercial standards according to the store format location and global & regional strategies. You will lead the full store team to excel, creating an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and entrepreneurial spirit. You’ll analyze sales data, follow up on results, and create plans to optimize performance and profits.
A Day in the Life
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities:
Customer Sales & Profit
- Ensure the total OMNI customer experience, visual and commercial standards, aligned with guidelines and strategies
- Represent the brand positively during customer interactions
- Set, analyze, and follow up on sales & budget goals; create plans to meet targets
- Provide excellent personal customer service, guiding customers through fashion stories and actively selling products
- Promote the Customer Loyalty App and in-store sustainability initiatives
- Manage scheduling to align with sales budgets and activities
- Ensure routines in fitting rooms and checkout are followed, including transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Identify commercial opportunities, maintain competitor awareness, and act on insights
- Oversee store maintenance cost-effectively
- Handle administrative routines for people and operations accurately
Fashion & Trend Awareness
- Stay updated with fashion trends, styles, brands, competitors, and influencers
- Ensure team provides product and fashion knowledge during customer interactions
- Understand the local market, customers, and fashion trends
Team & Development
- Manage talent and performance, including recruiting, onboarding, and development
- Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning
- Share knowledge and skills with the team
- Collaborate with area and store leadership, including VMs
- Maintain excellent communication and professionalism
- Plan and schedule team activities
- Communicate regularly to motivate and inform staff
- Ensure procedures, routines, security, and legal compliance
- Participate in onboarding, training, and development programs
Retail Operations & Visual Execution
- Maintain a clean, tidy sales floor and back of house
- Ensure high-quality visual and product presentation
- Maintain stock levels and provide input on allocation
- Support daily store routines including opening and closing
- Manage the full garment cycle and fitting room routines according to standards
- Utilize in-store tech tools effectively
- Maintain consistent pricing signage and store standards
- Keep BOH areas organized and informative

Additional Information
Expected base salary range: $59,505 - $69,323 annually.
