Position: Manager
Reports to: District Supervisor
Purpose of Position: Direct the day-to-day operation of an assigned Par Mar Store in a manner that exceeds Company Goals and Expectations of Total Quality Service to our Guests. Ensure the store maintains a high standard of image and customer service. The Store Manager provides support and guidance to employees to ensure the best customer service.
- Availability: The Store Manager must be available at all times to respond to emergencies, customer concerns, and incidents at the location. If not physically present, they must be reachable by phone. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends when training new Assistant Managers is required.
- Driving on Company Business: Maintain a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance for driving company vehicles for duties such as banking, surveys, etc. A signed “Statement of Understanding” acknowledging these requirements is necessary.
- Safety: Enforce all safety measures to protect assets, employees, and Guests. Report injuries immediately with proper documentation.
- Guests: Greet and acknowledge Guests courteously, ensuring high standards of Guest satisfaction. Address complaints promptly and escalate when necessary.
- Image: Maintain a professional store atmosphere in line with company standards, including proper employee attire and store cleanliness both inside and outside.
- Training: Continuously improve personal knowledge and train employees according to company policies and legal requirements, utilizing tools like the “Manager’s Redbook”.
- Employee Development: Set and review employee goals, promote career growth, and recognize performance that exceeds standards.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all laws, regulations, and company policies, including those related to smoking, alcohol, and other regulations.
- Loss Prevention: Follow policies to prevent theft and loss, conduct inventory counts, and investigate discrepancies.
- Promotions & Community Engagement: Support store promotions, events, and community involvement initiatives.
- Food Service & Merchandise Receiving: Oversee food service operations and proper merchandise receiving procedures.
- Vendor Procedures: Follow proper protocols to protect assets and ensure customer satisfaction.
Minimum Requirements:
Physical and Mental Functions: Ability to stand for long hours, lift up to 50 pounds, work in cold environments, climb ladders, handle various tasks requiring dexterity, and respond calmly to stressful situations. Must have corrected hearing and vision, and be free from impairments that could affect safety and performance.
