Job Objectives
Manages the operation of a Walgreens store, improving sales, profitability, and image through proper merchandising, asset protection, team development, and delivering a distinctive customer and patient experience.
Job Responsibilities/Tasks
Customer Experience
- Monitor and analyze customer service, offering training and developing improvement plans.
- Greet customers and clinic patients, assist with products and services.
- Model and share customer service best practices to ensure a delightful experience.
- Resolve customer complaints and address special needs.
Operations
- Supervise store and pharmacy operations, including scheduling and task delegation.
- Manage financial controls, including cash handling and bookkeeping.
- Oversee merchandising, inventory management, and store presentation.
- Implement operational feedback from District Management.
- Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and compliance with laws and regulations.
- Ensure staff are trained on systems and software, and respond to technical issues.
Daily Planning and Execution
- Assign daily responsibilities and set expectations for the team.
Business Performance Management
- Analyze financial data and develop strategies to increase sales and reduce losses.
- Review KPIs and pharmacy performance, working with relevant managers to improve outcomes.
Business Planning
- Identify sales opportunities and manage inventory levels effectively.
People and Performance Management
- Manage team performance, hiring, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure timely training and development of staff.
- Promote teamwork and fair treatment, maintaining open communication.
Training and Personal Development
- Participate in training programs, pursue certifications, and seek self-development.
Communications
- Serve as a liaison between the store, district, and corporate levels.
- Engage in community outreach and events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 years retail management experience, or high school diploma with 5 years retail management experience.
- Licensed pharmacy technician or pharmacy assistant as per state law, or licensed RPh.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
