Job summary

Staples is seeking a General Manager in Charlottesville to lead a collaborative, customer‑centric store culture and drive merchandise sales, print & marketing services, and small business support. You will guide a team, develop talent, and ensure operational excellence while building strong community relations.

This role emphasizes coaching, accountability, and delivering total solutions to customers, with a focus on profitable growth and a positive, inclusive store environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year progressively responsible store management experience in retail as a General/Store Manager
• Experience in store operations with planning, financial acumen and driving results
• Experience creating a customer-centric environment and consultative selling to provide total solutions
• Experience developing a team in operational excellence to drive profitable YOY sales and margins
• Ability to lift/move materials in 10–50 lb range and stand/walk continuously

Provide strong leadership in community, customer service, sales, and team development.

Essential skills and experience:

• 1+ year progressively responsible store management experience in a retail environment as a General/Store Manager
• Store Operations experience with analysis, planning, financial acumen and driving results
• Experience creating a customer centric environment and working in a consultative selling environment that provides customers a total solution
• Experience developing a team in operational excellence to drive profitable YOY sales and margins
• Ability to lift/move materials in the 10-50 pound range, climb ladders, stand and walk continuously
