Overview

The primary responsibility is to manage a Big O Tire Store which includes controlling costs, managing profitability, training and developing the team of employees, maintaining the appearance of the facilities and ensuring proper operational procedures are followed.

Additional responsibilities include handling customer complaint resolution, daily customer interaction, coaching, directing the team, and executing at 100% of the service standard.

Responsibilities

  1. Perform all aspects of store operations including but not limited to shop, sales, office, and management
  2. Promote sales through explaining benefits of service and products to customers
  3. Perform vehicle inspections, print vehicle owner’s manual maintenance requirements, and prioritize and promote needed products and services with customers and management
  4. Perform all necessary sales duties per company policy and procedure including, but not limited to: proper pricing, knowledge and implementation of promotions and sales, suggestive selling, proper vendor check-in, stocking merchandise
  5. Staff the store with adequate personnel, implement training programs, and execute all company programs, policies, and procedures
  6. Recommend the employment, discipline, wage adjustments, and termination of store personnel and conduct performance evaluations of all employees within the store
  7. Coordinate all aspects of store operations including but not limited to sales, office, and shop management
  8. Provide guidance to staff in the resolution of difficult questions or customer concerns
  9. Conduct weekly store meetings to review safety issues, store policies, procedures, and product information changes as required
  10. Set goals and strategies to ensure the successful accomplishment of budgeted sales goals, gross profit percentages, expense control, and payroll objectives
  11. Review and analyze profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and payroll projections, as well as company P-card reconciliations
  12. Monitor employee productivity in accordance with established policy
  13. Ensure maintenance of all accounts receivable and the collection of past due accounts when necessary
  14. Ensure proper documentation, filing, and payments of accounts payable for proper tracking and maximum discounts
  15. Ensure prompt and consistent opening and closing of location based on store hours of operation
  16. Oversee daily cash handling to ensure opening and closing drawers balance
  17. Coordinate and verify bank deposit daily
  18. Maintain and safeguard company facilities and assets, including receiving in the system all assets and orders on the same day they are delivered
  19. Consistently conduct work order reviews for accuracy
  20. Maintain accurate inventories through daily spot checks, bi-weekly re-order, and a complete physical inventory at the end of the month, reporting any overage or shortage
  21. Complete any necessary reports or provide information to company personnel as directed in a timely manner
  22. Process all adjustments
  23. Verify all employee purchases, refunds, and customer satisfaction expenditures
  24. Recommend and implement merchandising, advertising, and promotions to effectively market product
  25. Maintain internal and external store appearance to comply with Big O Tires standards
  26. Utilize and perform all duties on the company checklists to meet consistent adherence to policies, procedures and expectations
  27. Adhere to all local, state and federal regulations concerning all facets of job responsibilities and duties, and store operations
  28. Ensure proper work schedule is followed and adhere to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours worked
  29. Maintain timely and professional communication with management, employees, vendors and customers.
  30. Keep supervisor informed of any maintenance problems and/or any issues that need attention
  31. Properly train new employees and develop the skills of the team
  32. Clean facilities, tools and equipment and stock shelves
  33. Complete all required training in a timely manner
  34. Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  1. 18 years of age or older
  2. Reliable transportation to work
  3. Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after regular business hours as needed
  4. Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
  5. Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
  6. Ability to exchange accurate information with customers
  7. Preparedness to travel overnight up to five days per year
  8. Willingness to work with hazardous materials
  9. Ability to consistently work in outdoor weather conditions
  10. Capability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles
  11. Willingness to comply with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) regulations
  12. Vision, hearing, speech, and the ability to detect odors is essential
  13. Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or driving) for up to nine hours per shift
  14. Ability to move and position self to move and retrieve product and supplies from shelves, under counters, or stacks of inventory weighing 75 pounds
  15. Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), and criminal background check
  16. Legal authorization to work in the United States of America

Preferred Skills

  1. High school diploma or GED equivalent
  2. Three years or more of experience in the retail or sales industries
  3. One year or more as a member of the Big O Tires team
  4. Valid driver’s license
  5. Readiness to work both independently and in a team environment
  6. Capability to work at a fast pace
  7. Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team
  8. Enthusiastic personality
  9. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities using time efficiently
  10. Management of multiple tasks and projects
  11. Ability to perform detail work with accuracy
