GENERAL PURPOSE:
Responsible for all aspects of store operations, leading the entire store to meet company standards and best practices. Staff, train, and develop leadership to deliver sales and profit goals while maintaining a friendly shopping environment. Recruit, train, and develop associates. Manage operations of stockroom, front end, and sales floor to ensure timely merchandise flow, proper receiving, and expense management through best practices and productivity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
General Operating Requirements:
- Lead all company best practices, maximizing productivity by minimizing steps and touches.
- Analyze store reports to evaluate expenses and performance.
- Address variances to standards with appropriate action plans, partnering with the District Manager.
- Ensure proper scheduling of associates to meet business objectives.
- Accept special assignments as directed by leadership.
- Manage payroll administration, including punch edits, scheduling compliance, and reporting.
Organizational Development:
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop assistant managers, area supervisors, and associates.
- Reduce turnover through selection, training, motivation, and retention tools.
- Address personnel and performance issues, including coaching and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure compliance with personnel policies and all regulations.
Expense Control:
- Lead expenditure management within budget.
- Control payroll hours to align with business trends.
Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment:
- Adhere to safety policies, ensuring safety of associates and customers.
- Ensure associates understand emergency procedures.
Customer Service:
- Treat all customers and associates with respect, demonstrating professionalism and courtesy.
- Implement customer service and merchandise presentation programs.
- Supervise and coach associates in providing efficient, friendly service.
Personal and Store Brand:
- Model professional appearance and reinforce dress code.
- Represent and support the company brand.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting store environment.
Merchandise Processing and In-Store Marketing:
- Ensure timely recovery, sizing, and markdowns according to standards.
- Organize merchandise per merchandising guidelines.
- Manage merchandise processing to the sales floor within expected timeframes.
Loss Prevention:
- Train associates on loss prevention programs to meet shortage goals.
- Demonstrate integrity, safeguard confidential information, and ensure compliance with loss prevention policies.
- Lead the annual inventory process and monitor stock policies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- At least five years of retail store management experience.
- High level of customer service skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and communicate effectively with staff.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Ability to operate store equipment, stand/walk for up to 100%, and lift up to 25 lbs. Requires frequent bending, squatting, reaching, and occasionally pushing/pulling. Ability to perform basic math and use janitorial and store equipment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct supervision of assistant managers, area supervisors, and retail associates.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Base salary ranges from $55,600 to $86,876, depending on experience and location. Benefits include insurance, discounts, 401(k), stock purchase, and various paid time off and performance bonuses.
