Job description

General Purpose:

Responsible for ensuring the store's profitability by controlling finances and inventories, and safeguarding company assets. Ensures daily deposit of all funds, researches and reconciles shortages, and assists in recruiting, hiring, supervising, and training store personnel. Also assists in taking customer orders, verifying references, and seeking additional business opportunities.

Specific Duties:
  1. Oversee the entire store operation and supervise all store associates.
  2. Maintain accurate computer and paper records, including backups and active files.
  3. Protect store property by managing inventory procedures, documentation, and security systems.
  4. Handle all monies received, ensuring proper cash handling and control.
  5. Administer company policies and ensure accurate reporting of transactions.
  6. Supervise store associates' actions, including order approval, collection procedures, product delivery, and service completion.
  7. Ensure associates adhere to training schedules.
  8. Increase store business and maintain customer accounts to company standards.
  9. Complete Vehicle Maintenance Reports weekly, review, and verify signatures.
  10. Hold weekly meetings with store associates.
Other Duties:
  • Enhance profits through revenue growth and expense control.
  • Respond promptly to requests from corporate and store management.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good record.
  • DOT certification if legally required; management training and at least six months of management experience in rent-to-own or similar business.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Efforts, Demands, and Conditions:

Work involves changing environments, walking, standing, bending, lifting, and dealing with multiple activities and pressures. Extra hours and travel may be required. Must handle emotional and mental stress, and use hand trucks for moving merchandise. Work settings vary from store interiors to customer homes, with conditions like uneven surfaces, stairs, and weather exposure.

Participation in training sessions may be necessary.

Relationships:

Frequent contact with customers, staff, and management; occasional contact with external partners. Effective communication with all levels is essential.
