Job summary

Hannaford is seeking a Management Trainee to run the store in the Store Manager’s absence, drive operations to meet goals, and build strong relationships with staff and customers.

This program prepares candidates to lead teams, manage merchandising and scheduling, and uphold Hannaford’s standards. The role emphasizes effective communication, problem solving, and a commitment to quality and safety within a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• College degree or retail management experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques.
• Effective interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lead and manage a team.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and use technical information to solve problems.
• Accreditation as a "Certified Food Safety Manager" or willingness to attend training and obtain it within 90 days of employment.
• Accreditation must be maintained while employed in a position requiring accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall operation of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Support the management and duties of Store operations to meet financial and sales goals.
• Build associate and customer relations and promote a strong culture in support of Hannaford Strategy.
• Maintain solid communications with the management team, all associates in the store and throughout the organization.
