Job summary

Dollar General Store in Tallahassee, FL is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, managing inventory, stocking and paperwork. This role also serves to develop an external candidate for the Store Manager role for a limited period.

Key duties include recruiting, merchandising, inventory accuracy, customer service leadership, cash controls, and safe, compliant store operations in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Experience in retail operations, inventory and merchandising.
• Ability to recruit, train and develop staff in a store environment.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities and supervise employees.
• Support merchandising, staging, stocking and pricing to company standards.
• Assist with inventory management, damages, markdowns and reporting.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and uphold store policies.
• Open and close the store, handle cash controls and deposits.
• Maintain clean, safe, well-stocked store environments.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
