Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods in the United States is seeking a store leader who will collaborate with the Store Manager to develop and execute annual growth plans, forecast demand, and translate strategies into actionable plans on the floor.

You will manage Captains and store teammates, lead selection and development, oversee scheduling and payroll, uphold merchandising standards, and coach teams to deliver exceptional athlete experiences while ensuring safety and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1-3 years experience.
• 1-3 years of retail management experience (or customer-focused experience).

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the Store Manager to develop and execute full-year business growth plans, including forecasting and planning 90+ days out.
• Directly manages a team of Captains (Supervisors) and indirectly manages broader store team through coaching and development.
• Oversees payroll and staff scheduling to align with budget goals and adapt to athlete traffic and sales trends.
• Owns hiring decisions for Captain (Supervisor) population and collaborates with the Store Manager on staffing.
• Coaches Captains on interviewing, hiring, and team-building practices.
• Ensures adherence to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
