Job summary

Boot Barn is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in California to partner with the Store Manager to lead the sales floor, drive exceptional customer service, and manage daily store operations.

You will coach associates, monitor performance, execute merchandising standards, control inventory, and collaborate with district partners to achieve sales goals while upholding company policies. The role emphasizes teamwork, community engagement, and equity in store performance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a retail team and coaching staff.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of merchandising and store operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead partners to foster a service and selling culture and exceed customer expectations.
• Provide coaching, actionable feedback, and recognition of excellence; be present on the sales floor during peak hours.
• Implement and maintain continuous learning; assist with partner training plans to improve performance.
• Collaborate with Store Manager to adapt to changing business needs and schedules; communicate with District/Region teams.
• Assess localized customer needs and relay insights to Store Manager.
• Plan and execute volume-driving events to engage the local community.
• Coach associates in customer engagement through loyalty programs and drive sales goals.
• Ensure adequate stock levels, correct adjacencies, and adherence to visual standards.
• Oversee markdowns and timely product receipts; assist with shrink and inventory planning.
• Maintain broad product knowledge across boots, denim, hats, and add-ons; train partners accordingly.
• Complete opening and closing procedures per company standards and Time and Attendance policies.
• Adhere to all applicable laws and company policies; demonstrate professionalism and teamwork.
• Additional duties as assigned by District Manager or Store Support Center.
