Job summary

Dollar General is hiring an Assistant Store Manager in San Angelo, TX. You will assist the Store Manager with staff supervision, merchandising, paperwork, and deposits, while performing stocking and cashiering to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

• Ability to perform cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventories via damages, markdowns, scanning and paperwork.
• Implement and maintain planograms; ensure merchandise is presented per guidelines.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, key control, and cash procedures; authorize refunds/overrides, count tills, deposit money.
• Assist with management of the store in the Store Manager's absence.
