Job summary

Dollar General is hiring an Assistant Store Manager in Anamosa, IA. You will help maintain a clean, customer-first store, supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, handle deposits, and support loss prevention.

This role involves stocking, cashiering and assisting with daily store operations to maximize profitability. Key duties include scheduling, training, safety meetings, planogram adherence, and ensuring accurate inventory and cash accountability while working closely with the Store

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and handle diverse situations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, instructions and manuals.
• Math skills including percentages and basic calculations.
• Experience with cash register functions and generating reports.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and deposit procedures.
• Ability to drive to bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling and training of employees; conduct safety meetings.
• Follow procedures to manage merchandise including receiving, stocking and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; manage damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Support planogram implementation and maintain visual standards.
• Ensure financial integrity through cash handling and deposits; monitor refunds and overrides.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager’s absence.
