Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Fort Stockton, TX location. This role supports the Store Manager in daily operations, customer service excellence, merchandising, and store integrity.

The ideal candidate will know each product area, uphold company policies, and step in as acting Store Manager when needed. You will supervise staff, manage inventory, and help drive profitability while delivering outstanding service.

Qualifications

• Retail experience in footwear or apparel preferred.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling store assets and operations.
• Collaborate with the Store Manager to set action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering and scheduling.
• In the Store Manager's absence, assume supervisory responsibilities and store leadership.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating store staff.
• Provide guidance to employees and customers across departments when needed.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to support profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure departmental goals and standards are met.
• Maintain high-quality customer service per company guidelines.
