Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Overton, TX location. You will assist with daily tasks, organize merchandise, and help drive a positive shopping experience for customers.

The role requires strong communication, retail experience, and the ability to lead associates, train staff, and maintain store standards. You will follow company policies and support safety and loss prevention efforts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, and lifting activities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment; excellent customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and maintain store displays and fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, handling damaged goods, and record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized store areas to company standards.
• Support Store Manager in supervising and developing Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment and adherence to policies; safeguard assets.
