Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store leader responsible for managing all store operations, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing, and support. You will recruit and train staff, oversee performance, and ensure compliance with policies and safety standards.

The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to optimize sales, control expenses, and maintain accurate inventory while delivering superior customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; management experience preferred.
• Retail management experience may be preferred depending on store needs.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies.
• Ensures that the store is adequately staffed and properly opened and closed each day; opens and closes as required.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify business trends (sales, profitability, turn), expenses, shrinkage, and errors.
• Orders to meet in-stock targets; reviews ordering plans and inventory management issues weekly.
