Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• One year of management experience in a retail environment (preferred).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies.
• Keeps store opened and closed as required; opens at least two times and closes at least two times per week.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify business trends (sales, profitability, turn), expense control opportunities, shrink and errors.
• Reviews ordering plan; follows up on BSR/cycle counts to meet in-stock targets.
• Facilitates efficient staging, stocking and storage of merchandise per company processes.
• Ensures merchandising presentation, pricing and signage per standards.
• Maintains accurate inventory levels; manages damages, markdowns, documentation, and controls.
• Ensures cash register accountability, key control, and security practices.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Maintains a clean, safe, organized store environment.
• Ensures store has tools needed to perform tasks.
• Follows company SOPs and policies; ensures compliance.
• Completes paperwork and documentation on time.
