Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate in Indiana to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staffing and inventory. The role focuses on developing internal candidates for future store leadership and will run for a defined period.

The candidate will assist with merchandising, pricing, cash controls and maintaining a safe, well-stocked store while contributing to operational excellence and customer service. This is a frontline leadership preparatory role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read diagrams, safety rules and procedures; basic math operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and proper pricing and display.
• Assist in inventory management, damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership.
• Maintain store security, cash controls and deposits.
• Support opening/closing duties and store operations in the manager’s absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
