Job summary

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting documents such as diagrams, safety rules, and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register to generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Familiarity with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination processes.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Good organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to solve problems in varied situations.
• Some locations may prefer bilingual Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policies; maintain proper staffing.
• Provide training, evaluate performance, and address gaps up to termination if needed.
• Make recommendations on pay and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Ensure store staffing, opening and closing twice weekly.
• Analyze operating statements for trends, expenses, and shrink.
• Manage orders to meet in-stock targets and review inventory issues weekly.
• Facilitate staging, stocking, and storage of merchandise.
• Ensure merchandise presentation and pricing are correct.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and markdowns.
• Maintain financial integrity with cashier accountability and cash controls.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Keep store clean, safe, and well-organized.
• Equip store with necessary tools for tasks.
• Follow SOPs and company communications; ensure compliance.
• Complete paperwork to guidelines and deadlines.
