Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager in Florida to oversee all store operations, including staffing, training, cash handling, inventory and customer service. This role requires leadership to maintain sales, safety and merchandising standards, while ensuring compliance with company policies and federal/state laws.

The successful candidate will recruit and develop staff, monitor performance, schedule work, and drive store profitability through effective inventory and loss prevention

Qualifications

• Experience handling cash accurately and maintaining deposits.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to federal and state laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide proper training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps for counseling or termination as needed.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open and close the store as needed, and ensure coverage throughout the week.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends, expenses and opportunities for improvement.
• Order to meet in-stock targets and review inventory plans weekly.
• Facilitate staging, stocking and storage of merchandise following company processes.
• Ensure merchandise is presented per standards with appropriate pricing and signage.
• Maintain accurate inventory by controlling damages and shrink, and overseeing paperwork and security controls.
• Maintain cashier accountability and cash-handling integrity.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and maintain a safe, clean store environment.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available to perform tasks; follow SOPs and policies.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
