Job summary

Houchens Food Group is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee day-to-day store operations in the absence of the Store Manager. You will drive sales and profitability while controlling expenses, ensuring optimal stocking and merchandising, and delivering Amaze Every Customer Every Time.

You will contribute to the growth of the management team and store associates, lead by Example, and manage staffing, training, and performance across the store.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of leadership experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to supervise store staff and drive performance.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train and develop store staff with goals for growth and success.
• Review store evaluations with management to identify opportunities and fix issues quickly.
• Coordinate supervision of staff to meet sales goals and follow procedures.
• Delegate workload to meet merchandising and visual standards.
• Conduct merchandising updates according to company standards.
• Forecast scheduling needs to meet customer demand and create schedules.
• Monitor payroll for budget compliance and take corrective actions.
