Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of leadership experience in retail or customer service.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to motivate and lead associates storewide.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to plan, delegate, and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train and develop store staff with growth goals, provide ongoing performance feedback and recognition.
• Review store evaluations with management to identify opportunities and address issues with urgency.
• Coordinate supervision of staff to meet sales performance goals and follow procedures accurately.
• Delegate workload among associates to maintain merchandising and visual standards.
• Participate in associate evaluations and provide feedback for improvement and growth.
• Complete merchandising updates per Houchens Ace Hardware standards.
• Collaborate with vendors to develop merchandising strategies and planograms.
• Forecast scheduling needs to meet customer demand and create work schedules.
• Monitor payroll to ensure budgets and adjust as needed.
• Discuss staffing changes with Store Manager and HR/Ops Directors before additions/promotions/terminations.
• Develop and implement in-store marketing strategies based on store needs.
• Other tasks as directed by supervision.
