Phyllis Jordan, a pioneer in the coffee industry, founded PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans in 1978 and demonstrated that better beans, superior roasting techniques, and pure passion for the art of coffee making mattered. The River Ridge location was opened in 1993, it was the first PJs in Jefferson Parish.

Job Summary

The role of the Store Leader involves three main responsibilities: serving people, operational excellence, and leadership. Our focus is on delivering an exceptional customer experience and fostering a caring environment for both customers and staff. Building relationships and providing attentive hospitality are key to our service standards.

The Store Leader is responsible for managing our community-based coffee shop, ensuring genuine hospitality, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and maintaining compliance with health regulations and company standards.

This position requires working at least 3 shifts per week, each lasting 6-8 hours, with additional administrative and operational duties totaling 40 to 45 hours weekly.

Responsibilities
  1. Understand and adhere to all company policies, procedures, standards, and training programs.
  2. Provide friendly, responsive, and courteous service to all guests.
  3. Ensure food and beverages are prepared and served according to standards.
  4. Achieve sales, service, quality, and cleanliness goals through staff training and a positive work environment.
  5. Manage cash and receipts following company policies.
  6. Meet labor and scheduling requirements, stepping in as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  7. Maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality through inspections and preventive maintenance.
  8. Comply with all health, safety, and labor regulations applicable to the store.
  9. Complete all necessary paperwork promptly and accurately.
  10. Support marketing, advertising, and promotional activities.
  11. Participate in ongoing training and development initiatives.
Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. At least 1 year of experience in food service or management roles.
  3. Management experience preferred.
  4. Strong basic math skills and experience with POS systems.
  5. Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  6. Ability to work 40 hours per week.

Compensation: $40,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
