Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash registers.
• Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-ogram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate, face merchandise and build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise.
• Order zones and drop shipment categories per Store Manager.
• Assist in plan-ogram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in store.
• Greet customers at entry.
• Operate cash register and scanner; bag merchandise.
• Collect payment and make change.
• Open/close store under Area Manager direction.
• Authorize refunds and overrides; maintain cashier accountability; count register and deposits in absence of managers.
• Monitor cash levels and drawer pulls; monitor cash security.
• Monitor cameras for unusual activities; provide change as needed.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation on time.
