Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store with effective supervision of staff, merchandise presentation, and daily deposits. In this role you will aid in scheduling, training, and maintaining store standards to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and skills include interpersonal, written and oral communication; problem solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret procedures, safety rules, and manuals.
• Cash handling procedures, cash control, and deposit processes.
• Experience in a retail environment and supervisory duties preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet/customers, operate cash register, itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise via receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; manage damages, markdowns, scans, and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms adherence and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash controls; sign refunds/overrides, count tills, deposit money.
• Assist in store management in Store Manager's absence.
