Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate in Akron, OH. This role focuses on customer-first service, cash handling, and merchandise presentation while supporting store profitability and asset protection.

In this lead capacity, you will assist customers, operate registers, stock and rotate products, and help with opening/closing duties in the absence of store leadership. Strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to operate the cash register and process payments accurately.
• Ability to read planograms and ensure correct merchandise presentation.
• Knowledge of cashier accountability and deposit procedures.
• Willingness to drive to the bank for deposits when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to total purchases, collect payment, bag merchandise.
• Stock, restock and rotate merchandise; build and maintain displays.
• Clean the store, take out trash, mop floors, and maintain restrooms and stockroom.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open/close the store under direction of the Store Manager; cover in their absence.
