Job summary

Belk is hiring for a Maintenance and Housekeeping Associate to maintain a clean, safe, and inviting store environment. This hourly role involves daily cleaning, upkeep, and supply replenishment to support sales and customer experience.

You will perform various tasks across store areas, assist guests, and help ensure safety and store standards while adapting to busy periods and multiple priorities.

Qualifications

• Must maintain high hygiene standards and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Comfortable using smartphones/tablets and Windows-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ownership and initiative in achieving store objectives and daily priorities.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout all store areas by dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning mirrors, trash collection and organizing supplies.
• Clean restrooms and associate breakroom, sanitize surfaces and restock essentials.
• Replenish supplies at registers and organize cleaning and maintenance items for easy access.
• Identify and resolve hazards to support store safety (spills, icy sidewalks, broken glass).
• Replace interior and exterior lights to maintain a well-lit store environment.
• Leverage training tools and guidance to understand operational processes and store events.
• Contribute to a positive store culture by connecting with teammates and sharing knowledge.
• Assist customers and support the store during peak traffic and other tasks as assigned.
• Follow asset protection procedures and safety guidelines to minimize risk.
