Job summary

belk is hiring for a Maintenance and Housekeeping Associate in Christiansburg, VA. This hourly position focuses on cleaning, maintenance, and stocking supplies across the store, while supporting safety and store operations. You will engage customers warmly and help sustain a welcoming store environment.

The role requires attention to hygiene, initiative, and the ability to move around and lift up to 40 lbs. Night and weekend shifts may be required to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ownership and initiative in achieving personal goals, store objectives, and daily priorities.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout all areas of the store by dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning mirrors, and collecting trash, hangers, and sensor tags.
• Clean restrooms and breakroom thoroughly, sanitizing all surfaces and breakroom appliances and restocking essential items.
• Replenish supplies at registers, including bags, boxes, and tissue paper and remove unnecessary items.
• Support store safety by identifying hazards such as spills, icy sidewalks, and broken glass, and resolving promptly.
• Replace interior and exterior lights, maintaining a well-lit store environment.
• Leverage training tools to build knowledge of processes and procedures and strengthen performance.
• Contribute to a positive store culture by sharing knowledge and celebrating achievements.
• Enhance in-store customer experience by assisting customers and supporting peak traffic periods.
