Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker with lead responsibilities in the absence of store management. You will unload trucks, stock shelves, and maintain plan-o-grams while delivering outstanding customer service and protecting assets.

Responsibilities include operating the register, assisting customers, and upholding store cleanliness and security. This role requires teamwork and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and handle cash accurately.
• Experience with IBM cash registers and cashier accountability.
• Familiarity with plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and process shipments according to store procedures.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays and maintain plan-o-grams.
• Assist customers in locating items and provide superior service.
• Operate cash register, total purchases, bag merchandise and give change.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety; support in store opening/closing tasks.
• Monitor cash levels, assist in banking, and ensure cashier accountability.
