Job description

Store - MILW-GRAFTON, WI

Maintain a high standard of the overall look and feel of the store, including cleanliness and recovery standards, to deliver our Brand Promises. Deliver friendly customer service, assist customers in shopping and finding products.

  1. Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures.
  2. Dust and damp mop floors according to guidelines.
  3. Move equipment and products for cleaning and return items to proper placement.
  4. Clean assigned areas using designated materials and equipment, including preparing cleaning solutions as needed.
  5. Deep clean key areas such as bathrooms, breakrooms, entryways, and high traffic zones to ensure a safe, clean environment.
  6. Keep cleaning equipment organized; notify supervisor of supply needs.
  7. Identify areas needing cleaning and proactively complete tasks.
  8. Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor, adhering to federal, state, and local regulations.
  9. Maintain positive interactions with team members and customers, exemplifying the organization’s values.
  10. Project a positive image and serve as a role model for team members.

Other duties may include:

  1. Providing a friendly checkout experience and handling cash according to standards.
  2. Engaging customers about Rewards and Private Label Credit Cards, and enrolling them.
  3. Assisting with Omni-channel processes like BOPIS and SFS.
  4. Participating in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram processes.
  5. Supporting shrink and safety programs.
  6. Following SOPs and company policies to ensure compliance.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to move throughout the store, bend, lift, reach, and stretch.
  • Lifting heavy objects and using ladders or similar equipment.
  • Work may include outdoor tasks, some nights, weekends, and early mornings.
  • Use of commercial cleaning supplies and chemicals.

Applicants must meet federal, state, and local legal requirements. Michaels requires team members to be at least 16 years old.
