Job summary

TJX Companies in the USA Home Office Framingham MA is seeking an Industrial Engineering Senior Manager to lead a team of Field Engineers, optimize store operations, and implement labor standards and process improvements across stores and distribution centers.

The role requires strong leadership, collaboration with field leadership and Home Office Store Engineering, and travel of 40–80%. Lean Six Sigma expertise and retail operations experience are preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Finance, Business Operations, Retail Operations, or a related discipline.
Experience leading teams in a dynamic, fast paced environment with a focus on associate training and development.
Demonstrated experience leading projects, influencing stakeholders, and implementing operational improvements.
Lean Six Sigma certification or demonstrated continuous improvement experience.
Experience with labor standards, workforce management, capacity planning, or operational engineering.
Ability to travel approximately 40-80% of the time.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of Field Engineers, providing direction, coaching, and support to ensure successful execution of engineering initiatives.
Oversee field engineering activities, including operational assessments, audits, pilot testing, implementation support, and continuous improvement efforts.
Partner with field leadership to gather operational insights, identify opportunities, and develop solutions that improve store performance.
Lead complex implementations and operational improvement projects while ensuring consistency with enterprise standards and objectives.
Promote and apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to drive process efficiencies and operational excellence.
Design, analyze, develop, and implement solutions that improve store operations in areas including backroom and office area layouts, material handling, best methods, service desk, workforce management, etc.
Develop, implement, and maintain engineering standards that support staffing and scheduling analysis, forecasted labor models, labor allocation and optimization, workforce management effectiveness, ROI analysis.
Analyze and recommend process improvements that optimize the Vendor-to-Distribution Center-to-Store supply chain network.
Identify opportunities to improve productivity, increase capacity, reduce workload complexity, and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
Evaluate current processes and recommend solutions that drive efficiency while maintaining service, safety, and execution standards.
Continuously review operational performance and develop engineering solutions that minimize cycle time, eliminate redundant activities, improve labor productivity, and optimize workflow.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
