Job summary

Meijer, a family company, is seeking a Store Director to lead retail operations at an Indianapolis-area store. You will use your leadership and service expertise to drive sales, financial discipline, and community engagement, while developing future leaders across the team.

You will mentor staff, ensure proper staffing, uphold safety and merchandising standards, and partner with the community to strengthen the Meijer brand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent retail experience.
• 5 years of retail/service industry experience.
• 3 years of leadership experience including management of leaders with direct reports.
• Minimum 3 years of retail leadership experience with General Merchandise and Grocery/Fresh experience preferred.
• Experience in leading retail or service operation with $40 million minimum in annual sales revenue (through single or multi-unit responsibility).

Responsibilities

• As Store Director, you will lead the store operations and team to deliver the best possible shopping experience for customers.
• Use leadership skills to maximize sales and maintain fiscal responsibility.
• Provide excellent customer service throughout store operations.
• Mentor and coach all team members and leaders to ensure goals are met and exceeded.
• Ensure the store is properly staffed with well-trained team members and develop existing staff.
• Maintain all corporate, safety, and regulatory procedures for a safe work environment.
• Cultivate relationships in the local community to support the Meijer brand.
