Overview:

Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks a Project Manager to join the Store Design team based in its New York City (SoHo) headquarters.

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for developing freestanding stores, wholesale, and Pop-ups in the US and Canada. They will work closely with the worldwide store design team, other departments, consultants, and contractors to renovate existing stores or develop new ones from inception to opening. Responsibilities also include coordinating store layout improvements, configurations, and upgrades of existing stores. The PM oversees project budgets, schedules, and design, liaising with departments like Operations, Retail, Visual, etc., to ensure program requirements are met and critical timelines are maintained. They will oversee construction and ensure standards of quality are met in a timely, cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Global Store Design on new store development.
  • Maintain relationships with tenant coordinators and mall managers.
  • Coordinate design document transitions for bidding, landlord review, and permits with the architect of record.
  • Review architectural documents with the Vice President, Store Planning & Facilities.
  • Coordinate security, telephone, and data requirements with relevant departments.
  • Obtain landlord approvals for design reviews.
  • Create bid requests for GC scope and assist in RFP processes.
  • Develop vendor requests for millwork, lighting, etc., and assist procurement.
  • Review bids, coordinate costs and schedules with vendors and contractors, and maintain schedules.
  • Manage project costs, review invoices, and coordinate with the cost controller.
  • Conduct site visits during construction to ensure standards are met.
  • Attend weekly site meetings to monitor schedule and quality.
  • Coordinate inspections and certificates with local authorities.
  • Assist with store openings and transition processes.
  • Develop punch lists and verify corrections.
  • Manage close-out procedures, including lien waivers and maintenance manuals.
  • Support multi-project budgeting and scheduling for departmental forecasts.
  • Develop Pop-Ups from concept to build-out in collaboration with Store Design and Visual Merchandising.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience, preferably in luxury retail.
  • Degree in Architecture or Interior Design (BA, MA).
  • Legal work authorization in the US.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, AutoCAD.
  • Strong budgeting, math, and project documentation skills.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
Salary & Benefits:

The annual salary ranges from $105,000 to $110,000, depending on experience and skills. Benefits include paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, health insurance, 401k matching, discounts on travel, entertainment, and products, and more.
