About the Role

As a NAPA Counter Sales, you are the "face of the retail store" and the go-to person for customers' automotive needs. You don’t need to be able to tear down motors (though it’s a plus), but a background and knowledge of automotive parts are essential. This role offers a great opportunity whether you want to pursue a long-term career as a Parts Specialist, work full or part-time, or explore other career paths within our company.

Responsibilities

1. Provide auto parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person and over the phone.
2. Assist team members with customer questions using your parts knowledge.
3. Deliver outstanding customer care and interactions.
4. Maintain a customer-focused, energetic approach in a fast-paced environment.
5. Welcome customers and ensure a positive shopping experience.
6. Utilize technology, including computers, cash registers, and catalogs.

Ideal Candidate

• Enjoy helping customers with auto parts and service questions.
• Experience in automotive or tinkering with cars/trucks is preferred.
• Willing to learn automotive parts if no prior experience.
• Desire to grow and develop within the company.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License.
• Experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or willingness to learn.
• High School Diploma or GED; technical or trade courses are a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Comfort in fast-paced retail settings.
• Good listening skills and empathy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background or passion for automotive, heavy equipment, farm, diesel, marine, or dealership industries.
• Experience with cataloging or inventory systems.
• Customer-centric attitude.
• ASE Certifications are a plus.
